Event Onboarding π―
Thank you for deciding to apply and becoming part of the Eden Apis Event Team! We're excited to have you join us, and we'll go over how training will commence and what will be expected from that training.
All training will be the same regardless if you applied for Host or Security, consisting of training in both roles to:
- Understand how the team works together better

Getting Started: Event Schedulingβ
Your first step is to get scheduled for training!

- Go to πevent-scheduling
- Wait until the next week's post is open (typically posted on Wednesday/Thursday)
- If it's already open, you're good to go!
-
Submit your availability template
- As a trial, you need to let the team know your availabilities to be trained
- You will also be responsible to reach out to trainers to train you unless they do it first
- When the scheduling thread is open, reply with your availability using the Trial Host Template below
Template Instructions:
- For each day, specify the times or time ranges you are available to potentially get trained
- Times must be in EST (Eastern Standard Time) or using HammerTime format (See website: https://hammertime.cyou/)
- You can provide a time range like
8pm->11pm(available during that range) - Use

You'll be paired with a trainer
- The @Event Committee will pair you with a @Senior Event Team member that matches your schedule for getting trained
- Training sessions will be coordinated based on both your availabilities
- This way you can give many availabilities, but scheduling will try to limit your hosting/training to the amount you specified! π
Check the schedule in πevent-scheduling. Look for the @Senior Event Team or @Event Committee icons next to people's names, or check server profiles to see who's in these groups.
Once you find an event hosted by a Senior Event Staff or Committee Member, ask them in πevents-organization if they can train you during their scheduled event.
Quick Summary:
- Complete 6 training events: 2 Security Shadows, 1 Security Observed, 1 Co-Host, 1 Host with Co-Host, 1 Host Observed
- 6-week probation period (1 event/week), can get 2-3 week extension if progressing slowly
- Be sociable (Hosts), keep events safe (Security), communicate with the team (Both)
- Submit your availability in the weekly scheduling thread to get paired with a trainer
- Read all the linked resources to help you succeed!
For questions, reach out in πevents-organization or ping the @Event Committee or @Event Team Head.
